Danish electric rally ace Mikkel Njor joins remaining NXT Gen Cup season

Danish electric rally talent Mikkel Njor is going to join the remaining part of the 2023 NXT Gen Cup season, starting this weekend at Gelleråsen Arena in Sweden.

"This is going to be awesome, I'm really excited to join the innovative NXT Gen Cup together with the emendo consulting group and to return to racing after a couple of years in rallying," said Mikkel Njor.

The 24-year-old started his career in racing, claiming the 2018 1600 Challenge Denmark bronze medal before moving onto rallying in 2021 when he claimed a class title of the Danish Rally Championship.

Last year had the Dane debuting in electric rallying in Germany, something which saw him being awarded the 2022 Motorsport Talent Of The Year title by the Danish Motorsport Association.

"I hope to be able to use my experience from both racing and electric rallying to hit the ground running in NXT Gen Cup," said Mikkel Njor.

"But it's obviously a really competitive championship and I have no illusions of getting anything for free. This is however really inspiring, I want to grow and evolve as driver and I can't imagine a better place than NXT Gen Cup for this."
